What Rockstar has confirmed for GTA VI
Rockstar has put a date on Grand Theft Auto VI: 19 November 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, at $79.99 for the digital edition. There is still no PC date, the map is Leonida, and the leads are Lucia and Jason. Past that, most of what you see on YouTube is still a leak or someone guessing.
Date, consoles, and price
Take-Two’s FY2026 Q4 letter, dated 12 May 2026, is the current public schedule: Grand Theft Auto VI on 19 November 2026, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. The same letter prices the digital edition at $79.99. Physical copies sit with the stores, not in that PDF. Pre-orders opened 25 June 2026. If a shop still shows 2025, that listing is leftover from the old window. Rockstar moved the date in 2025.
There is no PC release date in that letter, on Rockstar’s Newswire, or in the May 2025 State of Play. GTA V reached PC later than the consoles. That delay does not set a day for VI. Until Rockstar or Take-Two name a PC date, a dated “VI on PC” claim is invention.
Coverage in May 2026 talked about a pre-load around 12 November. Pre-load is the download sitting on the drive before launch day. The files can copy that week; the game still opens on the 19th unless Rockstar says otherwise in public.
Leonida, Lucia, and Jason
Trailer 1 went out on 4 December 2023. Trailer 2 went out during State of Play on 6 May 2025. Together they confirm a few things. The state is Leonida, a fiction of Florida: Vice City, swamps, highways, a stadium. The two names on the posters are Lucia and Jason. Lucia starts the first trailer in a prison jumpsuit. Jason is the partner on the outside. Rockstar has not published a mission list, a skill tree, or a map you can drive.
What is still not announced
The 2022 leak was real footage that got out early. Treat it as early video. A gun name, a business you can buy, or a control from that footage can change the week the game ships. If it is not in a trailer, a Newswire post, an earnings letter, or a State of Play, it is not confirmed.
Online for VI has been discussed in interviews as a separate mode that would follow the story release. They named a sequence: story first, Online later. What stands today: 19 November 2026, PS5 and Xbox Series, $79.99 digital, no PC date, Leonida, Lucia and Jason.
